Our Management Team
The Austin’s have made its life’s work to do what we love and love what we do! Making the farm a viable family business has been a long-time passion for all. We want to share our love for horses and farm living through our new wedding venue. We believe the simple way of life is, stress relieving and so contagious you’ll want to keep coming back year after year. Our other shared passion is spending time together at family owned property on Moosehead Lake, Maine.
Beth Austin, Owner – Beth Austin and her two children, Reeve and Kylemore Austin have lived on this property since 2002. Beth grew up in a small town, Kenduskeag, Maine. She attended college at the University of Maine in Farmington. After college she taught special education in Juvenile Corrections for 10 years before becoming a stay at home mom. Since becoming a widow unexpectedly, she has been working on turning their family hobby farm into a viable business for the last 7 years.

Kylemore Austin, Owner in training – Kylee is currently studying Entrepreneurship and Marketing at the University of Southern Maine. She hopes to bring this knowledge to the family business in the near future. She is also a standout volleyball player. In her off season she coaches volleyball. Her love for horses and competition has taken her all the way to Pennsylvania where she competed in Team Penning and Sorting winning a youth title at age 17. In 2017, she was honored with the William B. Wise scholar athlete award for achievement in the classroom as well as on the court.

Reeve Austin, Maintenance and Field Operations
Reeve is a key figure in the farm operations. He started a career in excavation with a local company at a young age. He is in charge of equipment maintenance and hay operations and plans to grow his own beef in the future. He enjoys the outdoors and loves snowmobiling in the northern Maine woods.

Heather Wilson-Labbe – Director –
Heather was born and raised on a hobby farm with sheep and beef cattle. At 8 yrs. old, she saved enough money to buy her first horse however beef cattle were her main interest. For twelve years she was actively involved in 4-H winning many awards locally and regionally. At the age of 14, she showed and drove Belgium and Percheron Draft horses for 3 years, earning the Youngest Teamster Award of the North-East Region. Heather put her animal love on hold while completing her first 2 college degrees. After obtaining a Diploma in Interior/Architectural design and a Bachelors in Nursing, she started back in the show pen riding Reining and Cow Horses. She shows all over the East coast and has won monies and many titles as a Non-Pro competitor. As a RN, she has obtained a Specialty Degree in Wound, Ostomy, Continence Care and a Master’s in Business with a Healthcare focus and has successfully developed and managed wound care practices in Maine and NH. Most recently Heather is now able to pair her artistic vision with her agricultural love at River Winds Farm.

Jake Masterson – Head Trainer
Up and coming NRHA and AQHA Professional, Jake Masterson was born and raised in the horse training industry. Jake realized early on that riding and training horses was going to be a life long passion. He has 15+ years training experience with knowledge gained from the best in the business. Jake is well versed in a multitude of different disciplines, from cutting and cow horse work to Reining and ranch riding. Jake has worked with a wide range of clients from competitive Non Professionals to first time green riders. He is committed to inspiring excellence and building long term relationships with his clients. Whether you have a young horse just starting out or seasoned veteran that needs maintaining, Jake can help achieve all your horse related goals.
Elishia Townsend, Event Planner– Elishia is a wife and mom of 3 wonderful children. She grew up in Windham and received her love of flowers from her grandmother Hazel. She would always pick flowers from Hazel’s garden and make bouquets for everyone. She has been in the Floral and wedding industry for over 15 years and has been a part of many wonderful weddings and events. She continues her passion at River Winds Farm where she helps make every couples dream wedding come to life.
Peter Doughty – Facilities and Grounds Manager – Pete has been working for the Austin family for almost 15 years. His wife and two children have been residents of Saco since 2012.
